Paula Morales investigates the space between analogue and digital realms. Through her harlequin GIFs, video, and installation work, she constantly questions the image origin, tightly executing hyperbolic recontextualizations and color studies. Morales’ work is charged with nostalgic elements, modern clichés, and panoply. Her work manifests as digital image, mesmerizing projections and humorous installation work where she incorporates industrial and kitsch materials. Her work has been shown at Roll Up Gallery at Public Works SF (San Francisco CA), Pro Arts Gallery (San Francisco, CA); and featured in Issue #57 of Hayden’s Ferry Review (2015), on Soundcloud Inc in (2015) and the FOTOSÍNTESIS la fototeca with National Geographic Magazine in 2013. She has done art direction and design work for music videos and publications such as Catafixia Editorial. Morales was recently the Artist in Residence at Recology SF, (San Francisco, CA).
