The first Anren Biennale is held under the artistic direction of Lu Peng, a professor at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts. Titled Today’s Yesterday, the Biennale comprises four exhibitions spread across the grounds of the old Ning Liang Factory; one curated by Marco Scotini, curator of The Szechwan Tale: Theatre and History, also Liu Ding and Carol Lu Yinghua, curators of Crossroad, Lan Qingweiand Du Xiyun, curators of Rhetoric of Genealogyand Liu Jie and Lu Jing, curators of A Future that Never Returns.
