Guta Galli: BRID(G)E, and Other Deviations

Guta Galli is a Brazilian interdisciplinary artist working with photography, video, installation and performance art.

Her current researches study the intersections between womanhood, power, race, sexuality and violence.

She has exhibited individually in Rotterdam (Brazil Rotterdam Festival / Netherlands) and São Paulo (Matilha Cultural and Legislative Assembly of São Paulo), and has also participated in several art fairs and group exhibitions in São Paulo (SP-ART, SP-ARTE FOTO, MIS), Rio de Janeiro (RIO-ART, RIO-ARTE FOTO), Brasília (CAIXA CULTURAL), Santiago (Chacco-Chile), Rome (Bienalle Internationale di Roma) and in the USA, where she performed and/or exhibited her work at the San Francisco Art Institute, SOMArts, Berkeley Art Museum, De Young Museum, SFMOMA, Root Division Gallery, Proarts (Oakland), Walter Maciel Gallery (LA) and Start Up Art Fair (SF and LA).

In São Paulo, she has done a graduate degree in Photography (FAAP).

In San Francisco, she received her MFA (Master in Fine Arts) from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2017.
